Week 8

Developing My Professional Identity

Recognising positive growth in confidence, intentional reflection, and connecting placement experiences with social work theories and AASW Practice Standards.

Reflective Narrative

Confidence and Intentional Critical Reflection

By Week 8, I began to recognise positive changes in my confidence and understanding of social work practice. I became more comfortable engaging with residents, participating in appropriate activities, and having meaningful conversations while remaining aware of my responsibilities and boundaries as a student social worker.

I also became more intentional in reflecting on my interactions. Rather than thinking only about what occurred, I began considering why I responded in a particular way, how my values and assumptions may have influenced the interaction, and what I could learn or do differently in the future.
